Momotaz Rahim
I am a former Secretary of Friends of Khasdobir and however remain a board trustee working to support the amazing work delivered in a small area of Sylhet in Bangladesh called Khasdobir.

We have over 1200 children from ages 3 to 6 learning to read and write in open spaces, in Bangladesh, they are called Schools Under the Sky. With no government support, our work enables children to be prepared for mainstream school from age 6. The charity also helps adult women to learn to read and write and young girls to train as seamstresses/tailors to enable them to work independently. Other help that we provide are free GP check and medicines for the poor and coaching classes for students to help them with their exams and also supporting destitute widows.

ARCADIA CHARITY
Based in Dhaka Bangladesh
I am a humble fundraiser to help women in a country where a poor woman has no voice.
Momotaz Rahim
My friend Leena Alam is an amazing woman, an inspiration to many ,
She has opened a school for disadvantaged children on the outskirts of Dhaka and is on the verge of opening a home for women working in the garment factory industry and abandoned women giving them security, support and enabling them to learn skills to stand alone and support them selves and their children in a safe environment.
I am a humble fundraiser to help women in a country where a poor woman has no voice.

As a member of HAWA and a former Chair I elevated the small organisation to the status it enjoys as an award winning charity working locally thinking globally.
During my terms as Chair I enabled HAWA and working in partnership with St Albans District Council, enabled them both to win the East of England Equality Award in 2009 for the work undertaken to involve diverse communities/young people to create a garden within a park called the Sensory Garden, in Clarence Park St Albans and an Elder Women’s Luncheon Club called the Tiffin Club. In 2010 again the Council and HAWA won the East of England Equality Award for the work that I undertook in the Tiffin Club, adult literacy, exercise, welfare benefit advice, monthly speakers a pioneering project for diverse elder women, no other project exists in St Albans like the Tiffin Club.
